212 Market is a farm-to-table restaurant nestled right in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. Walking distance to many attractions (AT&T Field, High Point Climbing, and the Walnut Street Bridge), 212 Market offers several vegan/vegetarian options in an environmentally conscious atmosphere. From electric car chargers to a dog welcome deck covered in solar panels, 212 has established itself as one Chattanooga's most eco-friendly local businesses. Staff has been extremely cooperative with ChattaVegan, assuring us that they are always willing to create a vegan option for anyone that asks using local, in season produce.
In 2016, Travel + Leisure named 212 Market the best farm-to-table restaurant in Tennessee. The restaurant’s team of chefs, led by Susan Moses, creates seasonal and daily menus featuring local foods from area farms and suppliers. An on-site bakery produces a variety of delicious breads and sumptuous desserts. Vegetarian and gluten free options are always available, and vegan options are also available. Maggie Moses, a registered dietitian, provides advice on healthy food, and 212 prides itself on being able to accommodate diners with special dietary needs, including allergies to dairy (lactose), shellfish, and nuts. No peanut oil is used in the restaurant.
